I've been very busy lately. But I've been trying pretty hard to draw at least -something- every day this month... though sunday all I managed was a 30-second doodle on Enzo's wrist. Today we went to Mongolian BBQ with Chris and Brandon, and this is what I worked on after I couldn't stuff any more food into my face. Most of the values were done when we got back to C&B's place, though.

I'm hanging out with larpers now so I hear a lot about werewolves and vampires.

So anyway.

I bought a scanner. I tried valiantly to resurrect the old one, to no avail. If I'd had an ounce of patience I could have gotten one for much cheaper than I spent, but what's done is done, and I'll probably need to find some sort of commission-ish thing I can do to make up the funds.

In the meantime, here are some of the sketches I wanted to scan yesterday.

If you enjoyed these sketches, please consider donating to help cover the cost of that scanner. If you can't donate, I also love comments!

So here's this thing I drew yesterday. Working on learning to draw people, or at least humanoid faces. It's different. At this point her face is my least favorite part, but it was enough to give me the lead-in for the rest of her. She has some character background and everything, but no name yet. I suck at thinking of girl names.

cut for nipples, I guess )

Well, I was going to wait and not post this until it was done and colored buuuttt I put in way more details than I expected so coloring will take a while. And [livejournal.com profile] haikujaguar asked to see what I was working on.

This is a revisit of an old picture that I'd started more than three years ago for my buddy [livejournal.com profile] chaoseven. I tried fixing what was there with the old composition, but it just wasn't happening. Glad I ended up giving it a fresher take.

Happy belated, dragon.

I was a little overwhelmed by the response to that 'who is reading?' post over on LJ. Thanks for the love, everyone!

Had a good chat with [personal profile] feralkiss yesterday. Related- I swear, I'm trying to start drawing again.

So I grabbed a couple volunteers from people who responded to that last post and did a couple sketches as if I were doing icons. Warming myself back into my drawing zone.

Hope you all don't mind me hijacking your likenesses.

(ps- feral, this doesn't count, I'm trying to do some more interesting stuff)

I'm not entirely sure where this came from, except a couple scenes in this music video* reminded me of zombie movies, and I wanted to do a car scene with outside attackers. Only I felt more like drawing werewolves than zombies, but maybe they're werewolf zombies I dunno.

The perspective's kinda wonked and man that car needs some work but overall I feel like it's a fairly successful concept execution.

Drawerins from last wednesday and last night

These are really good, despite some flaws. You want to look. n__n )

As a side note, there are no 'mood' options here for awesome, great, or fantastic.
