I got a new tattoo while I was in KY. A friend of my brother's recently finished her apprenticeship and got basically a journeyman position at a Lexington parlour. Chase (my brother) has the very first tattoo she ever did on skin, and it looks great. Anyway, I wanted to support her career because I know she's going to be really brilliant with it.

You guys remember this guy I drew in 2008?

Well, now he's 8 inches tall on my left hip. Just line art so far, but she appreciated my heavy black outlines and gave it some nice line weight, which took about 2.5 hours. She loves the color scheme, too, so I'm hoping to make it back to Kentucky in the spring sometime and get her to color it.

I still want to get my shedding snake on my calf at some point, but I want to figure out the design really well first. The squid was a little bit of an impulse tat, but I drew that thing two years ago and still like the design. I'm pretty self-critical of my own work, so that's a bit of an accomplishment.

Haha awesome! It looks great, you're right, she did a good job with the line weights.

I was hoping it was in color already though. XD

Oh that's awesome! Love that image too; it's one of my favorites from your "cephalopods" button set, with its electric colors.
