is the new Comic Sans or Papyrus.

No, seriously. It's everywhere, because people think it's 'fun.'

Stop it! Use a better font in a way that makes it say 'fun,' don't try to use a quirky font that is so immediately recognizable to shortcut it.

Hobo is wide and awkward and ungainly and its default kerning does not work well. Like any typeface, it can have its appropriate uses, but I find it hard to believe that it is the best choice for any situation. Much like its annoying Comic Sans and Papyrus brethren.

Seriously. Hobo is one to avoid.

(Doesn't look like Papyrus to me, and hardly like Comic Sans... It looks like a 70's themed font, not something from comics books nor from ancient scriptures.)

Ah, I wasn't saying it looked similar, but that it was seeing similar usage. Comic Sans and Papyrus are both often used by people using them because they seem 'interesting' or 'unique,' though they are not actually good fonts.

The best physical-world comparison I can think of is crocs, though that might be an American thing. People wear them because they are supposedly very comfortable but they are not actually good for your feet and they are generally regarded as quite ugly.

Now I'm wondering how I might have phrased my post to be better understood. 0_o

O_O yes, crocs is definitively not a widespread practice everywhere, at least we don't have those here.
